I often think why I do not find any IEC campaign in Newspaper and Electronic media, released by Government; both State and Centre is amazingly silent on the issue. Dowry prevention Act is passed in 1661, but how many people really know that it is illegal? Since then how many people have given/taken dowry? How many brides are tortured for dowry demand? How many are killed for Dowry? Should not Govt release a white paper on it? Why Opposition parties are also silent? Why they do not demand it from Govt? Even CSO are also keeping silent.
I have determined to start a No Dowry campaign; I want to print T-shirts, Caps with the message. I request all T-shirt companies to come forward and print the message on T-shirts made for sale.
Yes it is possible; I feel there are many youths who will be interested to wear it proudly and say "NO DOWRY" if a little moral support is provided. Support me today and stand against Violence on women!

Pioneering woman’s rights activist Ms Madhu Purnima Kishwar adequately exposed the politics around dowry (Summary of this article "Destined to fail" -> The present day dowry system symbolizes the disinheritance of women and the resulting desperation of parents to push their daughters out of their homes after marrying them off. Madhu Purnima Kishwar points to inherent flaws in the anti-dowry legislation, and argues that equal inheritance is the way forward. ). ReplyDeleteAlso see http://feministmedia.wordpress.com/2009/05/29/gruesome-drivel-pn-benjamin-and-deccan-herald/ and update your knowledge and correct your perspective, most of the dowry is desired and insisted by brides themselves, since that's the only chance for many of them to inherit even a disproportionate part of their ancestral property!. Dowry is mostly cast upon the husbands to "NET" a man of higher stature than the girl... which is called marrying UP!.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't girls marry down and be given equal inheritance.... and avoid all such hassles?. Lets get women educated and enable them to stand on their own feet rather than having to "buy" a higher stature husband for them so that their life's secure!.
taking the maintenance from 6 month marriage for life long like pension plan for young educated female why? what will you call it? why women need ready money of the husband? when she was not living with him and not ready to do household work. most of the cases come's up to demand to live seperat from husband parents.decades and decades mens had accepted jobless girl, uneducated girl as a wife. How many salaried earning Girl marrying with unemployed boy's and support them? at the time of marriage why girl's father donot hand over his share in the property instead of directing them towards husband property and home.? why the father of the Girl search the boy's who had property, home , job . is it not tendency of greediness? why Rule act rule 3 is misused. Dowry giver also tobe punished euqlly then till now how many girls parents are jailed.? why the number of the Vrudhashram is increase? why women need free home under DV act? is it not greedyness? women need everything free , they donot want to work hard and live there life with own money. marriage is the systematic way of earning free money and free property.
ReplyDeleteUN and women organisations are deliberately popularising false statistics of violence on women(mentioned in this post: http://at498a.blogspot.com/2010/02/exposing-unfemun-false-statistics-of.html )
ReplyDeleteRequest go through the link of mediaradar: http://www.mediaradar.org/alert20061113.php, which will prove that UN themselves conceded that the statistic of 70% Indian women are subjected to domestic violence is a false statistic.
Here is the correction by Washington post on the same subject after mediaradar cornered them.

Correction by Washington Times: http://washingtontimes.com/corrections/20061128-102228-2806r.htm
Using a chart published in a 2005 U.N. Population Fund report -- which the U.N. agency now says was misleading -- a London Daily Telegraph article published in Nov. 13 editions of The Washington Times incorrectly stated the frequency of wife abuse in India. The agency says that it does not have sufficient data to provide such a figure and that the chart was intended to show that 70 percent of Indian women who were abused by their husbands think such abuse is justified in at least some circumstances.
*************
As you can see a chart of UN was misquoted(must be deliberately by the fund-mongering feminazi, to show the "Ultra" sad situation in India so that more donations fall into their begging bowls!), the chart actually said "70 percent of Indian women who were abused by their husbands think such abuse is justified in at least some circumstances. "
See the truth with open eyes, do not succumb to the drivel that the feminist media wants you to chew on and get brainwashed for the promotion of their vested interests.
Thanks Mr. Cruiser Deep and Mr. Gansh Ganu for sharing your thoughts, ideas and concern over Dowry.
ReplyDeleteTo reply to Mr. Criser regading disowning of girls from parental Property, I like to aware you that, after revision on Hindu inheritence Act, now both son & daughter have equal Right on parents property, both self-earned and Ancestral property.
But the awareness on this new development is not spread through media or IEC campaigns of Governments. The parents who are now giving Dowry to girls, thinking that they are giving girl a share of parent's property are actually made fool; because after their demise the daughter will demand her share on parent's property.
Now the stage is set, only the awareness is necessary.
Thanks for your comments,
